\u00a0As you know, our townhouse has a bricked-in courtyard that I gave a Ralph Lauren spin<\/a> to. \u00a0 \u00a0Today, we are going to visit another of my neighbor’s courtyard, and this one has a country influence.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

Believe it or not, this area used to be a swimming pool, but when our neighbors bought their home, they didn’t want a pool.\u00a0 He is a master gardener and wanted to make the most of the small and enclosed space.<\/h3>\n

They didn’t totally give up on water, though.<\/h3>\n

This charming pond they installed is loaded with fish and lily pads.\u00a0 Think Monet’s lily pond in miniature.<\/h3>\n

Hey, it even has a waterfall feature.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

They have a wonderful eating area and built-in grilling area.<\/h3>\n

In addition to annuals and perennials, they also have a compost area, blueberry bushes, herbs, and tomatoes in an area that is about 20 x 20 feet.<\/h3>\n

You have seen the twin version of this space in my courtyard, and you know we use it as our eating area.\u00a0 This neighbor chose to have his gas grill built in here, and has a brick walkway to his home lined with plants.\u00a0 Another of those same, same but different spaces that I love.<\/h3>\n

Birds love this courtyard because they can always find a full feeder, and humans love it because the flowers and look change as the season progresses.<\/h3>\n
