I&#8217;m Entering a Pie Baking Contest"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">You read that right. \u00a0Today I am entering a coconut cream pie in the Great American Pie Contest. \u00a0This event kicks off Lexington&#8217;s Fourth of July celebration. \u00a0I just hope I don&#8217;t embarrass myself. \u00a0Since I am elbow-deep in sugar and flour, I thought it would be nice to share the recipe with you. \u00a0We featured this delicious recipe on our blog before. \u00a0It is the best pie out there. \u00a0I just hope the judges agree.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2012\/08\/16\/old-fashioned-coconut-cream-pie\/coconut-pie\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-12081\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/Coconut-pie-1024x635.jpg\" width=\"614\" height=\"381\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">The recipe is taken from a\u00a0<em>Better Homes and Gardens<\/em>\u00a0pie and cake cookbook given to me as a wedding gift by my third grade teacher. \u00a0It&#8217;s an old-fashioned recipe, and it will earn you some compliments.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong><em>COCONUT CREAM PIE<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>\u00a0&#8211; 3\/4 cup sugar<\/h3>\n<h3>\u00a0&#8211; 1\/3 cup all-purpose flour<\/h3>\n<h3>\u00a0&#8211; 1\/4 teaspoon salt<\/h3>\n<h3>\u00a0&#8211; Whisk those 3 ingredients together.<\/h3>\n<h3>\u00a0&#8211; Slowly add 2 cups cold milk and mix well.<\/h3>\n<h3>\u00a0&#8211; Cook over medium heat and stir constantly.
