I love the look of these metal spheres. \u00a0These are for outside, but I have seen them on a smaller scale for decorating inside a house, and I just love the look.<\/h3>\n

I saw a picture on Pinterest of someone who made their own. \u00a0Sorry, I’m not sure whose blog it was. \u00a0I didn’t even pin it. I saw it and thought the spheres would \u00a0be easy. \u00a0They were also selling some at Target where I have gotten other \u00a0ideas for other DIY projects such as my nautical candles.<\/a>\u00a0 I am not sure if they are still selling these spheres there nor do I know the price, but you can make your own for under $5. \u00a0I did!!!<\/h3>\n

Go to your local craft store and buy crafting hoops. \u00a0They are in the cross stitch section, and the smaller hoops were under a dollar. The larger ones are around one dollar. \u00a0I bought two of each size, but I might go back and add another loop to my sphere. \u00a0The number you use depends on your tastes.<\/h3>\n

After trying to brush paint them with acrylic craft paint, I decided this was a job for spray paint. The craft paint was not sticking even after sanding the rings, so I separated them and headed outdoors to spray away.<\/h3>\n

I had this silver Rust-Oleum hammered paint and thought it would work, and I was happy with the result. \u00a0I did a couple of light coats and let them dry. \u00a0You could add some Briwax to give them an aged look if you would like. \u00a0It has been hard to find a sunny day to do some painting outside this summer in Syracuse.<\/h3>\n

I didn’t get a picture putting them together, but it is very easy. \u00a0With these hoops you can unscrew the outer hoop. \u00a0I put the inner hoops in the outer hoop and then tightened the outer hoop. This way you do not need glue, but yet, it is sturdy and strong and won’t lose its shape.<\/h3>\n

I love the look, and they are fun to make because you can construct a variety of sizes depending on the size hoops your craft store carries. \u00a0This is another kid-friendly craft that also is decorative. \u00a0It’s a win-win!! \u00a0This is the table behind our sofa. \u00a0I have to say that I love the basket underneath which is from Ikea. \u00a0It is perfect for holding our blankets to curl up under while we watch a movie.<\/h3>\n
