Last week when I was adding color to the hutch (here<\/a>), I decided it was a good time to add a new vignette to the hutch’s counter top.\u00a0 I went to my stash, pulled out some cute items, and got creative.<\/h3>\n

This is what I came up with.\u00a0 Now let me tell you about it.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

First, I grabbed my passport tray that I told you about here<\/a>.\u00a0 Then I added in a bunch of delicious smelling lavendar from my mother<\/a>‘s garden and tied it up with a cute ribbon.<\/h3>\n

<\/h3>\n

It’s my favorite fragrance in the whole entire world, and this bunch is special since my mother grew it.\u00a0 She has quite the green thumb.<\/h3>\n

Then I added an old kitchen scale that I bought years ago at my grandfather’s estate auction.<\/h3>\n

Doesn’t it have great patina?<\/h3>\n

Next came these great old milk bottles that I also bought at Grandad’s auction.\u00a0 They are also great for holding a bunch of sunflowers in the late summer.<\/h3>\n

Then I topped it all off with this little basket made by……you guessed it…..my mother.\u00a0 You can see some other handiwork of hers here<\/a>, here<\/a>, and here<\/a>.<\/h3>\n

When I was cleaning up and organizing my craft room last week, I applied some chalkboard paint to this random board and after just two coats, I had a mini-sign.\u00a0 Adding the French phrase Bon Appetit<\/em> was the first thing that came to my mind.\u00a0 It fits in with the French grocery list in another part of the room (here<\/a>).<\/h3>\n

With very little effort and zero dollars, I came up with a whole new look.\u00a0 I love shopping the house.<\/h3>\n
