When my decorator friend, Beth from The Lone Rearranger<\/a> was here a few weeks ago for a get-together, she gave me some much-needed free advice on some tweaking. \u00a0I was singing the blues because I had become bored with the items in our kitchen hutch that I was constantly seeing through the glass-front doors. \u00a0Beth told me that all I needed to do was to add bits of color.<\/h3>\n

And that’s just what I did.<\/h3>\n

When she first made the suggestion, I thought I would need to go shopping. \u00a0However, I quickly realized that I could shop the house.<\/h3>\n

I removed some of the blue and white plates and kept the white ironstone in the cabinet.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

Then I just layered in some of my Hall teapots (here<\/a>) and along with some other colorful pitchers.<\/h3>\n

I loved the way this green cake stand played with the blue and white platter.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

I bought this platter from some nomads in Outer Mongolia when we were there a few years ago. \u00a0It’s another one of my useful souvenir purchases. \u00a0You can read about some other ones (here<\/a>, here<\/a>, here<\/a>, and here<\/a>.)<\/h3>\n

I did leave some blue teapots because it is my favorite color, after all.<\/h3>\n

This hutch is nearly impossible to photograph. \u00a0Sorry for the quality, but I did want to show you how just by shopping the house, I was able to add some summer pazzazz to our kitchen hutch.<\/h3>\n
