Can you believe it is June already? \u00a0We can’t either. \u00a0Following a little tradition we have started here at The 2 Seasons, we want to bring back a post we ran in June, 2012. \u00a0It’s a cute little DIY table runner that I saw in\u00a0Country Living<\/em> magazine. \u00a0It was simple, \u00a0inexpensive, and put a nice little summer spin on our dining room table. \u00a0You can easily make one with the colors\/patterns of your choice for just a few dollars. \u00a0Our dining room has undergone some changes since last June, and my photography is a lot better than it was then, too. \u00a0Enjoy!<\/h3>\n

I love color, and I want to try to add some bright color to my house for summer. \u00a0We do not always have sunny days here in Syracuse so any color I can add helps on the not so sunny days. \u00a0I found this table runner from\u00a0Country Living<\/em>\u00a0magazine and thought, \u201cHey that looks easy and fun for our table\u201d.<\/h3>\n

Here is our dining room table. \u00a0We do not have an eat in kitchen so all of our meals are at this table, formal or not. \u00a0We purchased this a couple years ago from Ikea in the scratch and dent area for $50. \u00a0We couldn\u2019t find anything wrong with it excect the box had been opened. \u00a0At first I was not a fan of this table. \u00a0I thought it was too big for the loft we were living in down in Atlanta. \u00a0However, it has grown on me. \u00a0Because the table is so long, I rarely have runners on it. \u00a0So I decided to make one. \u00a0Enter the\u00a0Country Living<\/em>\u00a0inspiration.<\/h3>\n

I purchased five bandanas from Hobby Lobby for 99 cents. \u00a0They had a huge selection, and \u00a0I decided to go with bright summer colors.<\/h3>\n

<\/h3>\n

<\/h3>\n

Basically, I just sewed the ends together, piece by piece. \u00a0I have a sewing machine but can only do a straight line. \u00a0Or at least I attempt to do a straight line, so this was my type of sewing. \u00a0My grandmother did teach me to always iron the seams as you go along, which I did.<\/h3>\n

After I sewed all of the bandanas together, I went back to iron again, and this time I used starch. \u00a0It helped give it a crisper look.<\/h3>\n

<\/h3>\n

And voila!!! \u00a0Here is the quick and easy summer table runner. \u00a0Even our Tiffany bowl looks great on it.<\/h3>\n

Now I can\u2019t wait to add some dishes, get some fresh flowers and have a colorful tablescape!<\/h3>\n
