Using letters as wall art is quite the trend now, and we have joined right in. \u00a0Large letters are everywhere in our home. \u00a0I have used them to make a statement in our\u00a0dining room<\/a> and even on our\u00a0gallery wall<\/a>.<\/h3>\n

Do you see the “H”? \u00a0We love the letter “H” around here since it is the initial of our last name and \u00a0my maiden name. However, I was getting tired of the plain black “H”.<\/h3>\n

\u00a0Originally, we painted it with black acrylic paint last year. \u00a0We added a few tacks to make it look industrial, but it’s time to move on.<\/h3>\n

Whoops! \u00a0I didn’t realize till now that I never painted the bottom……oh well. \u00a0Anyway, since we do love our traveling, I thought I would wrap the “H” in a map, thanks to some inspiration I got from the Urban Outfitters<\/a> website. \u00a0Theirs was $12.00. \u00a0Mine was free because I had part of a map of the United States left over from another project so I decided to use it. \u00a0I picked the midwest area because the colors were bright.\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

It was super easy to just trace, cut, and paste. \u00a0I followed up with some Mod Podge. \u00a0You could really get creative with these letters. \u00a0If I wanted to do a “J” for my name, I could have done Kentucky where I was raised. \u00a0Mr. Spring could have done a “C” and a map of New York or even New York City where he grew up. \u00a0Basically, the options are endless.<\/h3>\n

The updated “H” is now on the gallery wall. \u00a0This was an easy change, and I am happy with the new look. \u00a0I took the easy route and used a map I had on hand, but you could even make color copies of a map in a book or on-line.<\/h3>\n
