When we travel, I like to buy some local art if possible. \u00a0My favorite find is local notecards because it gives me an easy way to share something from my trips with my friends. \u00a0They always seem to appreciate receiving a birthday, get-well, or thank you note on these little treasures.<\/h3>\n

I bought two packages of 10 hand-painted notecards on our trip to Burma. \u00a0One set was in black and white and one set was in color. \u00a0(Jordan bought a set of the colored cards also and will share what she did with hers later). \u00a0Because they didn’t come with envelopes, each set was the equivalent of $2.00. \u00a0That’s a lot of work for such a low price.<\/h3>\n

I have always wanted to make some envelopes so this was my chance. \u00a0First, I found a template on the Pinterest.<\/h3>\n

Then I enlarged it based on the size of my notecards.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

I made the pattern on some scrap paper that I taped together.<\/h3>\n

Then I cut it out and started folding it.<\/h3>\n

I used some wrapping paper that was left over from this project<\/a>. \u00a0Since it came from the Dollar Tree, it was thin. \u00a0The next time around, I’ll upgrade to a thicker paper. \u00a0To get everything to stick together, I used double-sided tape.<\/h3>\n

I loved the scalloped flap. \u00a0Before gluing it shut, I sewed on a cute little red button. \u00a0I hope it holds up in the mail.<\/h3>\n

So it will be easier for the mail people to read it, I added a plain white label. \u00a0Now, all I have to do is go to the post office and get some cute stamps.<\/h3>\n
