lot about the two of us. \u00a0You&#8217;ve seen our homes, our husbands, our projects, etc., but we really haven&#8217;t told a lot about ourselves. \u00a0What makes us tick, so to speak. \u00a0So, today our masks come off, and we are going to tell you some fun facts about each of us.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">First, we&#8217;ll start with our superlatives, and then give you some facts.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;text-decoration: underline\">Janette<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3>&#8211; Favorite color &#8211; Any shade of blue with yellow a close second<\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>&#8211; Favorite number &#8211; 17<\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>&#8211; Favorite food &#8211; My mother&#8217;s fried chicken<\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>&#8211; Favorite singer &#8211; Harry Connick, Jr.<\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>&#8211; Favorite movie &#8211; &#8220;The Way We Were&#8221; (I know this dates me, but I loved\/love that movie. \u00a0I sobbed the ugly tears).<\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>&#8211; Favorite book &#8211; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Grapes of Wrath<\/span>\u00a0 (The ending blew me away. \u00a0I read it as a teenager and will never read it again. \u00a0I&#8217;m afraid I&#8217;ll see it differently \u00a0and my feelings will change).<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;color: #0000ff\"><em>Jordan<\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3>&#8211; Favorite color &#8211; \u00a0Yellow<\/h3>\n<h3>&#8211; Favorite number &#8211; 7<\/h3>\n<h3>&#8211; Favorite food &#8211; Grandma&#8217;s fried chicken<\/h3>\n<h3>&#8211; Favorite singer &#8211; U2<\/h3>\n<h3>&#8211; Favorite movie &#8211; &#8220;Love Actually&#8221;<\/h3>\n<h3>\u00a0&#8211; Favorite book &#8211; It&#8217;s always changing, however the last book I read, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">King Peggy American Secretary, Her Royal Destiny, and the Inspiring Story of How She Changed an African Village<\/span>, was great.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">Now on to five facts about each of us. \u00a0I&#8217;ll go first, and then Jordan will follow.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a 614px) 100vw, 614px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">\u00a0I have traveled to 70 countries. \u00a0When my husband and I met in college, he told me during our second conversation that he wanted to travel. \u00a0I guess he meant it. \u00a0Although the Netherlands is my favorite country, the more primitive, remote, and third world a country is, the happier I am.\u00a0 Our children and their spouses love to travel, too.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2013\/01\/08\/fun-facts-about-the-2-seasons\/100_0102\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-15167\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large 461px) 100vw, 461px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">\u00a0 Along with traveling comes bicycling. \u00a0It is one of my favorite things to do. \u00a0I have been lucky enough to cycle across the USA, from Portland, OR to southern California, and from Minneapolis to New Orleans. \u00a0In addition, I rode from the top to the bottom of France, from the bottom of England to the top of Scotland and many other European countries. \u00a0I&#8217;ve also gotten to ride in some remote countries in Southeast Asia and in Africa. \u00a0(Jordan will share more about the African gig). \u00a0The above photo was taken when we stopped cycling to take a break at a monastery in Cambodia. \u00a0It&#8217;s safe to say that you&#8217;ll find me rolling along on a local country road on about any pretty and warm day.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2013\/01\/08\/fun-facts-about-the-2-seasons\/dscf1091\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-15184\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large center\">\u00a0 I was a school teacher for 18 years. \u00a0Eight of those years were spent teaching in an alternative school. \u00a0Working with students who had really adverse home lives is what made me become involved in Habitat for Humanity and later our own volunteer group that we formed. \u00a0Now each year we pick a country (usually third-world) that we want to help. \u00a0We then find an agency there who needs our help, and we spend two or so weeks there working to improve the lives of others. \u00a0We have built homes, improved schools, and worked in orphanages. \u00a0In this photo, I am working together with my little buddies in Laos to prep their classroom for painting.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/cdnet.myxer.com\/tn\/c\/666086\/big\/?t=2008083102500\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"239\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">I have a degree in journalism from West Virginia University. \u00a0I learned to love writing in high school and was devastated when I wasn&#8217;t selected as editor of the high school newspaper. \u00a0 My first job out of college was as a reporter on a small daily newspaper, and it was my all-time favorite job. \u00a0I loved every single thing about it except the pay. \u00a0Having a blog gives me the excuse to stay involved with writing.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2013\/01\/08\/fun-facts-about-the-2-seasons\/img_0524\/\" rel=\"attachment sizes=\"(max-width: 288px) 100vw, 288px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">I met my husband Mike (known to you as Mr. Right) on a bus. \u00a0We were both juniors at WVU. \u00a0He was the BMOC literally because he was\/is seven feet tall and was a highly-publicized basketball player. \u00a0We lived in the same dorm, yet I had never seen him. \u00a0You see, there were two campuses at WVU &#8211; the old campus and the new campus. \u00a0Students like us who lived on the new campus had to take an intra-campus bus to get to class. \u00a0So, one morning I sat down on the crowded bus beside a cute guy. \u00a0(I didn&#8217;t know he was so tall till he stood up). We struck up a conversation, and the rest is history.\u00a0 After college, he played professional basketball in Europe for one season which means we moved to Geneva, Switzerland shortly after we were married.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">*****<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/fc00.deviantart.net\/fs27\/f\/2008\/083\/0\/3\/The_Price_is_Right_logo_2007_by_tpirman1982.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"352\" height=\"409\" \/><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">Hi all. \u00a0Jordan here. \u00a0The first fact that I am going to share is that I have actually been on the receiving end of the words, &#8220;Come on down.&#8221; \u00a0That&#8217;s right. \u00a0I was selected to be a contestant on &#8220;The Price is Right&#8221;. \u00a0Producers actually interview each audience member as they enter the studio. \u00a0Based on a 10-second interview, they choose that day&#8217;s participants. \u00a0The contestants don&#8217;t know they have been chosen until their names are called. \u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><em>I won $3,000, a car, and a chandelier<\/em><\/span>. \u00a0It was quite a day.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.freeworldmaps.net\/printable\/us\/us_political2.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"344\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">I have lived in eight states, so far. \u00a0I was born in West Virginia, moved to Kentucky in second grade, and spent my freshman year of college at Purdue in Indiana. \u00a0Then I went to college in Georgia where I graduated. \u00a0(Go Dawgs!) Afterwards, I moved to California and from there Hawaii, which was by far my favorite. \u00a0Then I lived in Maine (long winters) and now New York (longer winters). \u00a0Mr. Spring and I hope\/plan to retire to Hawaii when that day comes.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2013\/01\/08\/fun-facts-about-the-2-seasons\/dscf0839\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-15171\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-15171\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/DSCF0839-508x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"305\" height=\"614\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/DSCF0839-508x1024.jpg 508w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/DSCF0839-160x323.jpg 160w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/DSCF0839.jpg 609w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 305px) 100vw, 305px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">I have lived with Crohn&#8217;s disease for 16 years, half of my life. \u00a0As a high school junior, I was not well and visited a series of doctors. \u00a0Finally, during surgery, the sixth doctor correctly diagnosed my condition. \u00a0I vowed that I would not let it control my life, and it hasn&#8217;t. I have had the opportunity to participate in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ccteamchallenge.org\/\">Team Challenge<\/a> and raise money and awareness for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ccfa.org\/\">Crohn&#8217;s and Colitis Foundation<\/a>. \u00a0I have an adventurous spirit (yes, Mom and I have both jumped out of airplanes, and Mr. Spring and I have run a marathon and half marathons) and have also traveled to several third world countries with my parents to help those people less fortunate.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2013\/01\/08\/fun-facts-about-the-2-seasons\/west-coast-and-new-hampshire-022\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-15199\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15199\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/West-Coast-and-New-Hampshire-022.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"486\" height=\"447\" rode my bicycle from the foot of the Eiffel Tower to Dakar, Senegal, which is in west Africa. \u00a0The ride took 10 weeks, and Mom joined me in southern Spain to ride for the last seven weeks. \u00a0It was a grueling trip through France, Spain, Morocco, West Sahara, Mauritania, and then Senegal. \u00a0We spent several weeks cycling in the Sahara desert. \u00a0There were 23 cyclists, and we were the only American women. \u00a0The majority of the riders were from the Netherlands who were wonderful to us. \u00a0We slept in tents, with an occasional dirty hotel coming to our rescue, and we ate what the locals ate, including camel. \u00a0We observed first-hand the repressed conditions of women living in those African countries and are so thankful that we live where we do.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ecx.images-amazon.com\/images\/I\/51QSHTJ02KL.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">I am listed in the IMDB (International Movie Data Base). \u00a0I have bicycled across the country three times for the Yale University Habitat Bicycle Challenge to help them raise money for the local Habitat affiliate. \u00a0I was one of four featured cyclists in a documentary called &#8220;Hammer and Cycle&#8221;, which
