That recipe follows. \u00a0For sweets I baked some white chocolate macadamia nut cookies and served them with some assorted chocolates. \u00a0Can we all give a collective<em> YUM<\/em>?<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2013\/01\/03\/another-afternoon-tea-2\/img_4133\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-15038\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-15038\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/IMG_4133-1024x681.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"614\" height=\"409\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/IMG_4133-1024x681.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/IMG_4133-430x286.jpg 430w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 614px) 100vw, 614px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">In the short time we were together, we caught up on each everyone&#8217;s news, discussed the latest movies, and solved the world&#8217;s problems. \u00a0Not bad. \u00a0Not bad, at all.<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">*****<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">JALAPENO CHEDDAR CRACKERS\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\">Recipe from my girl, The Barefoot Contessa (<a title=\"I Am Seeing the Barefoot Contessa\" href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2012\/11\/18\/i-am-seeing-the-barefoot-contessa\/\">here<\/a>)<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\">Note: &#8211; For our tea, I eliminated the chipotle chili powder and jalapeno pepper.<\/h3>\n<h3>Ingredients<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>3 cups all-purpose flour<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>1 cup yellow cornmeal<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>1\/4 cup sugar<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>2 tablespoons baking powder<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>2 teaspoons kosher salt<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>2 cups milk<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>3 extra-large eggs, lightly beaten<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>1\/2 pound (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted, plus extra to grease the pan<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>8 ounces aged extra-sharp Cheddar, grated, divided<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>1\/3 cup chopped scallions, white and green parts, plus extra for garnish, 3 scallions<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>3 tablespoons seeded and minced fresh jalapeno peppers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Directions<\/h3>\n<h3>Combine the flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, combine the milk, eggs, and butter. With a wooden spoon, stir the wet ingredients into the dry until most of the lumps are dissolved. Don&#8217;t overmix! Mix in 2 cups of the grated Cheddar, the scallions and jalapenos, and allow the mixture to sit at room temperature for 20 minutes.<\/h3>\n<h3>Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9 by 13 by 2-inch baking pan.<\/h3>\n<h3>Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smooth the top, and sprinkle with the remaining grated Cheddar and extra chopped scallions. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool and cut into large squares.
