Jordan has been holding out on me. \u00a0When we spent the Thanksgiving holidays with her, I was constantly seeing little projects she had done but didn’t consider them blog worthy. \u00a0Believe, me….they were. \u00a0But the biggest and best project of all was the bar that Mr. Spring built…from scratch using pine and mahogany woods.<\/h3>\n

They subscribe to This Old House<\/em> magazine, and the plans<\/a> were in it. \u00a0I think it’s pretty darn cool!!!<\/h3>\n

The bar sits in the corner of their Florida room which has seen many upgrades since they moved in. \u00a0They replaced the windows<\/a>, replaced the ugly tile with hardwoods<\/a>, added a day bed<\/a>, created a\u00a0game table<\/a> and now the bar. \u00a0My favorite part of it is the foot-rest. \u00a0Jordan couldn’t talk him into purse hooks, though.<\/h3>\n

The backside of the bar has a nice shelf for napkins, bar accessories, and glasses. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

They purchased the stools at Overstock<\/em>.<\/h3>\n

I enjoyed resting and sipping \u00a0a little cocktail hour refreshment while test-driving the new bar.<\/h3>\n

The bar comes in handy when there’s a crowd, like our crew at Thanksgiving. \u00a0Here I’m serving our Canadian friend Braydn. \u00a0He is an architect student at Cornell and needed a home-cooked meal. \u00a0Behind him is our son Cory who is sampling the pre-dinner snacks that his girlfriend Josie prepared. \u00a0(Cory has a music blog at here<\/a>).<\/h3>\n

I think Mr. Spring did an amazing job. \u00a0When the sun goes down and the lights come on, the bar is a perfect little retreat at the end of the day.<\/h3>\n
