Please don’t judge me. \u00a0I did a little enhancement in the kitchen that isn’t cute or pretty at all. You will not read this blog, and think, “Oh, I just love that.” \u00a0However, it is <\/em><\/strong>practical. \u00a0Just ask my feet.<\/h3>\n

We have hardwood flooring in our entire house – well, except for the baths and laundry room. \u00a0And I love it. \u00a0However, this long expanse between the sink and the stove was causing me a little grief.<\/h3>\n

<\/h3>\n

This cute rug once called that space home, but cooking and a wool rug just don’t mix. \u00a0I was spending way too much getting it professionally cleaned every few weeks. \u00a0Eventually, I decided to go nude<\/del>\u00a0bare and just stand on the floor while working away in the kitchen.<\/h3>\n

My feet, however, begged for relief, and I finally caved in. \u00a0I ordered an industrial padded rug. \u00a0It is rubberized, and any spills and drips can be easily wiped up. \u00a0There won’t be any trips to the rug cleaner for this baby.<\/h3>\n

Pretty, it ain’t<\/em>!!!! \u00a0I had a choice of black, gray, or brown. \u00a0I decided that brown would blend in better with the floor. \u00a0(This photo was shot right after I laid it down, and the ends have now flattened out).<\/h3>\n

Let’s face it. \u00a0With the holidays coming up, we are all going to be spending a lot more time standing while preparing all of those delicious meals and baking all of those yummy goodies.<\/h3>\n

The rest of me might get exhausted while I’m cooking my heart out, but my feet will be happy.<\/h3>\n
