Yep!! \u00a0I just wrote that dorky headline. \u00a0I confess, but I couldn’t pass up using the word spool instead of the word fool. \u00a0Because, you see, today’s post features spools – really old, cool, colorful, wooden spools. \u00a0And get this – they’re stuffed into a cloche. \u00a0It’s a look I love.<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\u00a0I just gathered up all of the odd-sized wooden spools from days of yore and put them into my big old cloche that I bought years ago at the Rockcastle River Trading Co. (Read about it here<\/a>, her<\/a>e, and here<\/a>.)<\/h3>\n

Then I put one of my silver trays on it and turned it upside down. \u00a0I didn’t even bother to polish the tray. \u00a0That’s even better because it has a nice oldish patina.<\/h3>\n

The cloche and company have been the dining table centerpiece for a few months now, and to add a fall touch I threw on a little square tablecloth that I bought in Hydra, an island about an hour’s boat ride from Athens, Greece.<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I have been to Hydra a couple of times. \u00a0It was established as an artist colony way back when and is so teeny-tiny that cars\/trucks aren’t allowed. \u00a0It’s just your feet and donkeys, folks. \u00a0But I digress. \u00a0When I say I threw the cloth onto the table, that’s what I really did. \u00a0I let it drop, and the way it landed is the way it stayed. \u00a0It doesn’t look contrived at all – just kind of rumpled and cute.<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Then I added some rust colored candles to the silver candleholders (they’re polished), and there’s a fall centerpiece. \u00a0How simple was that!!! \u00a0The colors in the cloth pick up the colors of the spools, and it’s autumn bliss.<\/h3>\n

The best thing about this centerpiece is that I had everything on hand, and the hardest part about it was dealing with the glare when taking photos.<\/h3>\n

I’m feelin’ pretty good about my little cloche creation.<\/h3>\n

I guess I’m too spool for schoo<\/em>l!!!<\/h3>\n
