{"id":13071,"date":"2012-10-04T15:18:14","date_gmt":"2012-10-04T20:18:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=13071"},"modified":"2012-10-04T15:18:14","modified_gmt":"2012-10-04T20:18:14","slug":"mini-pigs-in-a-blanket","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=13071","title":{"rendered":"Mini Pigs in a Blanket"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Happy Friday everyone. \u00a0I wrote about our <a title=\"Movie on the Lawn Party-Take 2\" href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2012\/10\/02\/movie-on-the-lawn-party-take-2\/\">movie on the lawn <\/a>party this week, and I said I would give you an easy and delicious &#8220;pigs in a blanket&#8221; recipe. \u00a0I was shocked how fast these went together. \u00a0They are great for an appetizer or for an easy snack. \u00a0Better yet, take them to your tailgating party this week-end.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2012\/10\/02\/movie-on-the-lawn-party-take-2\/movie-pig-n-blanket\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-12926\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-12926\" title=\"Pigs in a blanket\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Movie-pig-n-blanket-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"614\" height=\"409\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Movie-pig-n-blanket-1024x682.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Movie-pig-n-blanket-430x286.jpg 430w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 614px) 100vw, 614px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">This recipe was originally from <em>The Neelys<\/em> on the Food Network.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Ingredients<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>1 (8-ounce) can original crescent dough<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>1\/4 cup Dijon mustard<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>20 mini hot dogs or cocktail franks (I also got some nitrate free hot dogs and cut them up in small pieces)<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>1 egg, lightly beaten<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>Poppy seeds or sesame seeds<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Directions<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3>Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Cut each triangle of crescent roll dough into thirds lengthwise, making 3 small strips from each roll.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Brush the dough strips lightly with Dijon mustard. Put the mini hot dogs on 1 end of the dough and roll up.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Arrange them, seam side down, on a greased cookie sheet. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with poppy seeds or sesame seeds. Bake until golden brown, about 12 to 15 minutes. Serve warm with the dipping sauce.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Tangy Dipping Sauce:<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>1\/2 cup sour cream<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>1\/2 cup mayonnaise<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>3 tablespoons Dijon mustard<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>1 tablespoon whole-grain mustard<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<h3>Mix all of the ingredients in a bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until serving.
