It’s always great to get some inspiration from famous gardens. \u00a0Well, you can’t get much more famous than the New York Botanical Garden and Monet’s garden at Giverny.<\/h3>\n

During a visit to New York City last summer, a friend and I took the train to see how the New York Botanical Garden recreated Monet’s garden at Giverny.\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Our main goal was the lily pond which was at its summer prime. \u00a0We passed this foot bridge, similar to Monet’s, on the way to the pond.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

The place was just full of happy, buzzing bees doing what they do. \u00a0They added such a nice natural touch to the already beautiful flowers.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

The lily pond was filled with different species of lilies.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

I loved the texture on these pods. \u00a0They look so heavy, but they are very light and delicate to the touch.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

Some of the blossoms were white.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

You can see why toads and frogs like these pads.<\/h3>\n

I think this is the money shot. \u00a0The color is so perfect.<\/h3>\n

This blossom was huge, and there were so many different textures.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

Some of the lilies, like this one, were leaning over.<\/h3>\n

This one is called Miami Rose.<\/h3>\n

The pond was full of very curious fish. \u00a0They reminded me of the ones we saw at the Rockcastle River Trading Company (here<\/a>). \u00a0 I love to visit different gardens, especially one as famous and as fine as the NYC Botanical Garden. \u00a0It is hard to believe that philanthropists had the vision over 100 years ago to donate this land to the city and to create such an oasis of beauty and quiet in such a busy urban area.<\/h3>\n
