A couple of weeks ago I wrote about Gracie posing for a project I wanted to do. \u00a0You can read about it here.<\/a>\u00a0 I decided to do a couple more shots, and this is the winner. \u00a0I remembered that she always watches the microwave when I am thawing her food for dinner. \u00a0(We feed her a special raw meet mixture just for dogs, and to insure its freshness, we keep it frozen till we need it). \u00a0So, I just turned on the microwave, and this is what she did.<\/h3>\n

I don’t think she minded staying in this pose while I took more pictures. \u00a0A toy was her reward. \u00a0This is more valuable than a treat. \u00a0If you were around Gracie, you would see that there is always a toy in her mouth. \u00a0I think toys are her security blanket. \u00a0She even does a great job barking while holding a ball in her mouth.<\/h3>\n

I wanted the photo so I could use it to make a silhouette. This was a very easy project and only needs a couple things. \u00a0If this is a project you would like to do, these are the items you will need:<\/h3>\n

1. \u00a0A canvas<\/a><\/h3>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a02. \u00a0Shipping labels<\/a><\/h3>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a03. \u00a0Contact paper<\/a><\/h3>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a04. \u00a0Spray paint<\/h3>\n

\u00a0I had the canvas on hand but needed to get some shipping labels and contact paper.<\/h3>\n

<\/h3>\n

The first step is to choose the photo you want to use and then crop it as closely as you can. After cropping the photo, print it on the shipping label. \u00a0Then remove the backing of the shipping label, and put it on the contact paper. \u00a0The contact paper will adhere to the canvas better than the shipping label, so that is the reason for this step.<\/h3>\n

I didn’t have the smallest scissors so it made cutting a little bit of a challenge. \u00a0After I cut out the picture, I put it on the canvas to get an idea about spacing. Then I removed the backing and placed it on the canvas again.<\/h3>\n

I reversed it because I needed her image to look toward the right. \u00a0I then pressed it onto the canvas as much as I could without damaging the surface. Then after selecting the color, I sprayed it.<\/h3>\n

I used tweezers to pick up the contact paper and did it before the canvas fully dried. \u00a0Overall, I love how it turned out! \u00a0I plan to use it on our gallery wall which I will be sharing with you soon.<\/h3>\n
