{"id":12079,"date":"2012-08-16T15:47:09","date_gmt":"2012-08-16T20:47:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=12079"},"modified":"2012-08-16T15:47:09","modified_gmt":"2012-08-16T20:47:09","slug":"old-fashioned-coconut-cream-pie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=12079","title":{"rendered":"Old-Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">I belong to a garden club, and every summer we have a picnic together. \u00a0It is always set up in one of the member&#8217;s beautiful back yards, and the food is always delish. \u00a0This is my third year as a member of the garden club, and I have taken the same dish to every picnic. \u00a0It has become a requested item.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2012\/08\/16\/old-fashioned-coconut-cream-pie\/coconut-pie\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-12081\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-12081\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/Coconut-pie-1024x635.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"614\" height=\"381\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/Coconut-pie-1024x635.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/Coconut-pie-430x266.jpg 430w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 614px) 100vw, 614px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">The recipe is taken from a <em>Better Homes and Gardens<\/em> pie and cake cookbook given to me as a wedding gift by my third grade teacher. \u00a0It&#8217;s an old-fashioned recipe, and it will earn you some compliments.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong><em>COCONUT CREAM PIE<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\">\u00a0&#8211; 3\/4 cup sugar<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\">\u00a0&#8211; 1\/3 cup all-purpose flour<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\">\u00a0&#8211; 1\/4 teaspoon salt<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\">\u00a0&#8211; Whisk those 3 ingredients together.<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\">\u00a0&#8211; Slowly add 2 cups cold milk and mix well.<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\">\u00a0&#8211; Cook over medium heat and stir constantly.
