You can read about the before <a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2011\/01\/10\/chocolate-or-vanilla\/\">here<\/a>.<span> <\/span>It really pops and makes a statement in the room.<span> <\/span>When we first walked through the house, we loved the way the fireplace was angled\u00a0in the corner.<span> <\/span>We always pictured ourselves sitting in the living room by the fire\u00a0\u00a0as the snow falls outside.<span> <\/span>Well, \u00a0the snow is falling outside, but the fire is not roaring.<span> <\/span>We decided\u00a0 when we\u00a0bought our\u00a0house that we were going to turn our wood-burning fireplace into a gas fireplace.<span> <\/span>There seemed to be so many pros with getting a gas insert fireplace. The room would actually heat up instead of the heat escaping through the chimney was a huge factor.\u00a0 Also, t<span>here would be l<\/span>ess mess, and we would not have to clean up ashes.<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/images.quickblogcast.com\/4\/8\/2\/6\/7\/284967-276284\/remote.jpg?a=47\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span> <\/span>A quick click of a button would turn the fire on, and\u00a0we could turn it off with that same button when we were ready for bed.\u00a0 That eliminated the fear of a random\u00a0spark causing a fire.<\/h3>\n<h3>Before we headed to the store, my husband \u00a0measured to make sure we had the correct dimensions to show the salesman.\u00a0\u00a0 We\u00a0chose to go to a highly-\u00a0recommended\u00a0store in Syracuse so we would be sure to get the best advice.<span> <\/span>When we walked in,\u00a0 we were thrilled with all the gas insert options.<span> <\/span>We met with\u00a0 one of the owners and started discussing our fireplace and what we were looking for in a gas insert.<span> My husband<\/span> gave the owner the dimensions, and we could see his face drop.<span> <\/span>Since we live in an old house, the fireplace is\u00a0 too small for a typical gas insert.<span> <\/span>Just when we were slowly coming to terms with this, \u00a0the owner pulled out a manual for another company that might offer the right option.<span> <\/span>He showed us the book for Valor Fireplaces and pointed to the Windsor Arch Insert.<span> It had <\/span> a smaller more historic looking\u00a0insert that should fit into our fireplace.<span> <\/span><\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/images.quickblogcast.com\/4\/8\/2\/6\/7\/284967-276284\/WindsorArch.jpg?a=39\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>The flame&#8217;s dimensions\u00a0would be much smaller than what we anticipated,\u00a0but it would fit\u00a0our look since the insert\u00a0is black..<span> We kept thinking about the pros of the instant on\/instant off flames until t<\/span>he owner told us to brace ourselves for the price tag.\u00a0 It was $4,500!<\/h3>\n<h3>We believe in only paying cash for any and all items.<span> <\/span>We planned and budgeted for updating the fireplace, but we didn&#8217;t plan or budget this much.\u00a0\u00a0Should we continue to save or just\u00a0stick with the wood logs?\u00a0\u00a0<span> <\/span>I would love to hear what you all think.<span> Real or fake?\u00a0 Let me know in the comment form below.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Cheers!<\/p>\n<p><em>We were not paid by Valor Fireplaces. \u00a0Images by google images and Valor fireplaces Windsor arch collection<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Author: \u00a0Spring We are loving our new white fireplace.
