I love my pantry<\/a> as in L.O.V.E. it. \u00a0 It’s a triple threat since I use it as my bake station, office, and storage area. \u00a0But when you love something, and you see that it could use a little tweak, you do it, right? \u00a0It’s the same as telling your mister that he might need to get a haircut or shave a little closer. \u00a0It doesn’t mean you love him any less – it just means you care.<\/h3>\n

So, when my canisters were looking tired after years of use, I knew it was time to show them some love.<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I have had these canisters almost as long as we have been married, and that’s a loooooooong time. \u00a0They started out as crocks, and my mother had her carpenter make lids for them. \u00a0They are the perfect size to hold five pounds of flour or five pounds (maybe it’s four these days) pounds of sugar. \u00a0They are easy to put a measuring cup into, and they are as sturdy as a mule.<\/h3>\n

Basically, I gave them a nip and tuck by removing the dated knobs and removing the old finish with sand paper.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

I think they are pine, but they might be walnut. \u00a0Anyway, since I loved the color of the wood, I only needed to apply three coats of poly. \u00a0I figured that should hold them till I die since the first finish lasted this long.<\/h3>\n

Ahhhh, much better.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I bought three of these cute little pulls at Hobby Lobby. \u00a0I bought them because of the red, and you know I like those pops of red <\/a>in the kitchen.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

Aren’t they cute?<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I also added some chalk labels. \u00a0They will help me find my way when I am working in a cloud of flour.<\/h3>\n

Voila! \u00a0This is what they look like now – as if they been away on a little “vacation”. \u00a0They’ve gotten some “rest” and look oh so young and refreshed.<\/h3>\n

My whole pantry bake station just became a little brighter.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

It looks better from every angle.<\/h3>\n

And it’s all because…….<\/h3>\n

…..I showed them that I care.<\/h3>\n
