I donated a luncheon to a silent auction, and recently the group who purchased it came to enjoy it.<\/h3>\n

I served a delicious menu, and they ate every bite. \u00a0There were three couples. \u00a0Even though the menu of gazpacho<\/a>, blueberry scones<\/a>, goat cheese tar<\/a>t with salad, orange pound cak<\/a>e with raspberries and whipped cream, and peach iced tea was somewhat “a ladies who lunch meal,” the men loved<\/span>\u00a0it.<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

It was originally supposed to be a high tea which explains why I served scones. \u00a0However, it turned into lunch because of schedules.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I layered my grandmother’s dishes over our wedding china (Moonspun by Lenox). \u00a0I like Grandma’s dishes because I can make them work with the seasons depending on which linens I use.<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I have used them in the fall before with a gold linen tablecloth, rattan chargers, and black napkins. \u00a0But for this luncheon, I used a white tablecloth and bright yellow napkins. \u00a0It spoke summer.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Our wedding silver, Royal Danish by International, always is perfect. \u00a0It’s so nice to know that decisions we made about our silver and china so many years ago are still right.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

Since I had arrangements of flowers in other parts of the room, I used some of the teapots from my Hall teapot collection<\/a> as centerpieces.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I teamed my green depression glass goblets with our wedding crystal.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The green brought out the green in the dishes.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The ladies and the men appreciated the mixture of old and new.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Even the lemons cooperated with the color scheme. \u00a0I love my little Royal Danish lemon fork.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I always enjoy helping organizations raise funds. \u00a0Hosting a luncheon or tea is a great way to do it and have fun at the same time.<\/h3>\n
