Happy Monday. \u00a0Mr. Autumn and I are enjoying a four-day bicycle ride this week-end called the Tour de Kentucky. \u00a0We live in the most beautiful state, and it is always fun to see it up close and personal. \u00a0Meanwhile, I want to share a little progress report and a problem I am dealing with.<\/h3>\n

<\/h3>\n

I love a good espaliered tree as compared to a bad espaliered tree. \u00a0This is the photo of a good one. \u00a0See how the fruit is all lush and red and the leaves have a great glow and are deep green?<\/h3>\n

And now look at this one. \u00a0This is a sick tree. \u00a0And it is mine.<\/h3>\n

The leaves do not glisten. \u00a0There will be no fruit.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I was thrilled when we bought this place because I was getting an espaliered tree in the deal. \u00a0Someone else had done all of the work, and I would get to enjoy the rewards. \u00a0I would polish its leaves and enjoy eating the many apples it would produce. \u00a0But no, that won’t happen. \u00a0At least not any time soon. \u00a0Because, you see, my plant is sick. \u00a0I called the tree doctor, and he confirmed that, yes, it is sick. \u00a0After consoling me, he told me just what to do.<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

First, the doc told me to buy some of this. \u00a0Yes, yes, I know it is for roses. \u00a0But look there in bold black letters. \u00a0It says, “Disease control”. \u00a0My tree has a disease. \u00a0You all know it probably too well. \u00a0It’s called mldew. \u00a0Well, hopefully this three in one will kill the mildew.<\/h3>\n

He also told me to strip it bare. \u00a0That’s right. \u00a0Remove all of the leaves. \u00a0Remember when you were in elementary school and the boy next to you got a buzz cut? \u00a0It didn’t look so great, did it? Well, my tree doesn’t look so great either. \u00a0At least, not now.<\/h3>\n

But, hey, that’s okay. \u00a0I am a patient gal. \u00a0I am going to just sit in my courtyard on a comfy chair and maybe sip a little lemonade (laced with some sweet tea vodka) and wait………wait for it to look like this.<\/h3>\n
