Playing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Author: \u00a0Spring<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Darts are a fun game I started \u00a0playing \u00a0with my roommates when we lived in San Francisco. \u00a0We lived on the same block as a great Irish pub where \u00a0I learned to play a dart game called \u00a0&#8220;cricket&#8221;.<\/h3>\n<h3>I bought a simple dart board a couple years ago, and it has just been sitting on a shelf in the basement of our new house. \u00a0I wasn&#8217;t sure where we were going to hang it until getting a great idea \u00a0one day while doing laundry. \u00a0We had a basement wall we were using for hanging sports equipment, mops, brooms, and lots of tools. \u00a0 It had no other use, and those other items could easily be relocated to our shelf area in the back of the room. \u00a0So, the first step was to remove everything and put it in a new place.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-1014\" href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2011\/04\/11\/game-playing\/olympus-digital-camera-23\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1014\" title=\"Wall before\" removing the gear there were a lot of nails which I had to remove from the wall.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-1016\" href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2011\/04\/11\/game-playing\/olympus-digital-camera-25\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1016\" title=\"Wall cleared\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Dart-board-cleared-before1-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"430\" height=\"534\" \/><\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">At this point, it wasn&#8217;t look too good.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-1017\" sizes=\"(max-width: 430px) 100vw, 430px\" \/><\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Here are some of the nails that I removed from the wall.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><a center;\">Once I pulled out the nails, I used spackle to fill in the holes.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-1020\" 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 430px) 100vw, 430px\" \/><\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">It didn&#8217;t take too long to fill all of the holes. \u00a0 When they dried, I sanded them down and prepped the wall for painting.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-1021\" center;\">We had some left over chalk board paint in the basement from the previous owner so I decided to use it and painted away. \u00a0I applied two coats of the chalk board paint, letting them dry after each.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-1166\" href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2011\/04\/11\/game-playing\/olympus-digital-camera-36\/\"><img height=\"534\" \/><\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Here is the painted wall where we mounted the dart board at regulation height.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-1167\" href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2011\/04\/11\/game-playing\/olympus-digital-camera-37\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large left;\">Now we can play a game of &#8220;cricket&#8221; in the comfort of our home, since the little Irish pub is over 3,000 miles away. \u00a0 I need some more practice, though. \u00a0Mr. Spring beat
