There’s nothing better on a cold winter day than a mug of steaming hot chocolate. I have a homemade chocolate syrup recipe to share with you today, and you won’t believe how easy it is. Make some hot chocolate using this syrup and then top it with some marshmallows or whipped cream, and life doesn’t get much better. To give it a Christmas touch, add a candy cane for stirring. It’s the little things. Right?
- 1 1/2 cup water
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- Dash of salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Combine the first four ingredients in a medium pan, and cook stirring constantly till it begins to simmer and thicken. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Let cool before using.
- Store in a jar in the refrigerator.
