I have always enjoyed a good cup of coffee, but now that I am a mom, I have upped my coffee intake. Before Little Miss came home, Yankee and I always talked about having a coffee station upstairs near our bedroom.  We saw it once on a home tour and thought it was a great idea.  We have a small balcony right off of our bedroom that has a little bistro table and a love seat.  Since that home tour, we have envisioned sitting out there and having a cup of coffee all without going downstairs.  It just seemed like pure luxury to us.

Yankee has continued mentioning the upstairs coffee station multiple times. Little Miss is a deep sleeper at night, but she wakes right up in the mornings as soon as she hears someone going down the stairs.  I told him I loved the idea, but I am not a coffee drinker who can drink my coffee black.  I would still need to go downstairs and get milk from the fridge for my morning cup.  That problem as been solved thanks to the new  Starbucks® Caffè Latte K-Cup® pods.  They have made it possible for me to make a tasty latte in the morning and not wake “you know who” in the process.  While the weather is still nice, I can go out onto the bedroom balcony and do some computer work without disturbing the sleeping sweetie.  I am able to easily enjoy a tasty cup of coffee in the mornings while remaining upstairs, and Yankee can, too.  Today I am going to show you how to set up your own coffee station for your bedroom area.

Upstairs Coffee Bar - Create a Coffee Station for the Bedroom Area

First of all, find a little nook or cranny in your bedroom, bath, or upstairs hallway to set up the station.  It doesn’t need to be big, and it can be as fancy or as plain as you want it to be.  I opted for a nook located at the end of our hall.  This photo shows how the previous owners used this space.  If you do not have an unused area, you can use a small nightstand in your bedroom or bathroom. This nook was wasted real estate for us, so I thought it would be the perfect place for our upstairs coffee station.  Plus, this location works because when guests come, they will be able to make a cup of coffee without coming downstairs and being bombarded with our dog Gracie or the sounds of toddler music early in the morning!

Once you find the space, it is time to put it to work.  Determine how you will set up your station so it will work for you.  Like any good blogger, I made use of some furniture we already had.  I recently bought an island for our kitchen (you get to see it soon) which made the table that I had been using as our kitchen island the perfect home for our coffee station. This table came from my grandmother’s old restaurant, and I used it as my dining table in college.   It made the perfect starting point for our coffee station.

The next thing is to set up the actual coffee maker.  We are using an extra Keurig® coffee maker which we already had.  It was time to put it back to use.  I love the ease and convenience of making coffee now with these machines.  I wanted the space to be attractive as well as convenient, so I brought out some fun bowls to hold the coffee.  I needed them for the many choices of the  Starbucks® Caffè Latte K-Cup® pods.   They come in multiple flavors, and right now I have Caramel, Mocha and Vanilla.

I plan to pick up  Starbucks® Caffè Latte K-Cup® seasonal favorite Pumpkin Spice, and when the holidays come around Peppermint Mocha!  The seasonal favorites are available for limited times, but I have the other flavors for the other times of  the year.

Once the coffee maker is set up, then you get to have fun and be creative. I love napkins and have a variety of napkins to use at the station.  I think they add a fun touch of  whimsy or luxury.

If there is room, fresh fruit is a nice addition.  I like to grab a banana in the morning to hold me over till I do breakfast with Little Miss.  Now that I have this setup, our guests, who are actually arriving today, will get to use it.  To make them feel more welcome, I made some muffins.  It is always the little touches that make a difference.  Even if you do not have guests coming, you need to enjoy the little touches.

I used some extra space on the side wall to hang the cups so they wouldn’t use up table space.  They will be clean and ready every morning.

I am so excited to now have the Starbucks®Caffè Latte K-Cup® pods which are easy to make in just two easy steps.    I first add the flavor of my choice in the mug.

For step two, I brew the Starbucks®Caffè Latte K-Cup® pods in my Keurig® and stir.  This is easier than adding my sugar and milk and then some more sugar to make sure it is just right.   This is all ready for me, and I am glad it is made from milk and is without any artificial flavors.  They are available at your local grocery store.

So there you have it  – our new upstairs coffee station. Oh!  It’s the little things in life that make me smile.  Right now, I am happy.  Yankee is happy, and I think our guests who are coming this weekend will be happy.  I now feel I get an extra few minutes to relax and enjoy my cup of coffee each morning before my real world begins.

Do you have any morning luxuries you enjoy before you start your day?

Cheers!

Good to know about these lattes for the Keurig! It was at your mom and dad’s home that I first saw these cup at a time coffee/tea makers! Your mom is always ahead of the curve of those trends!!! Have a great weekend!

I have a coffee station set up in my dining room bar, I love it esp. for company to help with my mid afternoon tea or coffee break. What I like best is my large tray to make it portable to the front porch.
