Holiday Shopping

This is a sponsored post though all opinions are our own.

While both my mom and I love the holidays, we definitely reserve the month of November for Thanksgiving.  However, on the day after Thanksgiving, we go full force Christmas.  While we like to wait on decorating, we both like to do as much of our Christmas shopping as possible before Thanksgiving so we can put more thought into our purchases and not feel the pressure of buying last minute gifts.   Today we are excited to partner up with UncommonGoods and share our picks for some great holiday gift ideas.   The best part is that we have already found some excellent selections on their website for Yankee and other members of our family.  Shhhh!!! Don’t tell them because we want them to be surprised with the goodies under the tree. We love to give gifts that we would like to receive, and if any of these items were wrapped up for us, we would both be as pleased as could be.

Christmas Gifts for Women

We both are crazy about these embroidered city pillows, and there are a lot of cities available in their selection.  Think about someone’s favorite city, hometown, where they fell in love, their first job’s location, where they went to school, someplace they would like to visit, and on and on and on.  We bet you could find a special city for every person on your list.

These wine dish towels are perfect for the wine lovers on your list.  Each towel covers 68 popular wines (we didn’t have a clue there were that many), and each one is rated against 56 different foods.  That makes 3,808 pairings.  Wow is all we can say!!!

This gift is loaded with lots of features that we love.  You might remember that Mom made her own butter and blogged about it last winter.  Well, this little kit makes it possible to make butter from cow, sheep or goat’s milk.  You can even use buttermilk and whipping cream.  It has seasonings available to spiff up the butter, and it only takes about an hour.  If you have someone on your list who likes to cook or create in the kitchen, they would love this gift.  One of our favorite features is that it is made in the Netherlands, my mom’s favorite country.

You know that we are a bicycling family, right?  Well, we both think this is the cutest pizza cutter we have ever seen.  It would make a perfect stocking stuffer for a family member who cycles.  If you want to buy a gift for a friend but you don’t want it to be too personal, this would be great.  Include your own favorite pizza recipe if you want to add a special touch.  (Frozen pizza directions don’t count!)

If there is a traveler or recycler in your life, you might want to consider this gift for him.  It is a toiletries kit that is made from recycled tents.  It is durable, lightweight, and water and stain resistant.  Even the clips and zippers are wilderness ready but would be perfect for a business trip as well.

If you know a man who likes to grill, this organic spice set would be most appreciated.  It includes salts, herbs, and rubs so that he can mix and match them to create his own signature flavors.   This is perfect for the man who has everything, including the great outdoor kitchen.

Anyone who loves to cook would love this kitchen accessory.  It will hold either an iPad or a recipe book to make cooking a little easier and a lot more fun.  We consider this recipe holder a little bit country and a little bit rock and roll.  In other words, anyone and everyone would appreciate how clever and thoughtful you are to select such a nice gift.

Do you need to buy a gift for someone who enjoys traveling or daydreaming about it? Does someone on your list have a bucket list of the places he or she wants to travel to?   This scratch-off map makes it easy for anyone to track their travels.  We both are just itching to do our own scratching.  All they do is scratch off the areas they have visited (or want to visit) to reveal adventurous pops of color that turn  travels into a “domestic” treasure hunt of geography lessons.   All they need is a coin.

Do you have an athletic type on your list who likes to entertain?  This set of eight colorful drinks glasses will spiff up their bar and be crowd pleasers.  We love the bicycle graphics, the bright colors, and the size of these glasses.  We think a bourbon or scotch on the rocks might taste just a little bit better when sipped from a bicycle glass.  And can you just imagine how tasty a mojito would be?  Or a gin and tonic???  Oh, the possibilities are endless.
