My back porch has evolved over time. First it was just a store-all room, and then when Mom came to town a few years ago, we painted it and put our own touch on it. When you last saw it, the porch was home to a bistro table and the changing table turned bar.
We continued to use the porch this summer, but I decided I wanted to do something new. I like to go on the porch and do some computer work at the bistro table. Although it is very cute, it is not very comfortable.
The other day I was in Lowe’s, and they were having a massive sale on patio furniture. I thought a little love seat would be perfect for the porch. It would be comfortable, and I could enjoy my morning coffee out there and do a little work.
This is the one we settled on because I thought it was the most comfortable. Plus, it came with a coffee table, which was an added bonus. We realized if we used the coffee table we would be losing the bar because of the small space. The bar had a good two seasons with us, and I was okay with seeing it go to its next home.
The set was super easy to put together, and I did it in less than an hour.
The rug that was under the bistro table was not quite cutting it, so I am now in search of a new fun porch rug. Since fall is in the air here, I have added some fall touches to the porch so I can relax and enjoy my mornings even when they are cool.
This love seat needed some pillows, and I had some extras that worked perfectly for fall. The two square pillows are from Hobby Lobby, and the larger flower pillow is from Ikea.
I added a heated throw to the porch for the cooler mornings. This heated throw blanket is amazing and is a must for folks living in a colder climate.
I added a few fall touches to the coffee table.
Yankee picked up some beautiful fall flowers that I put in Mason jars and have scattered them around the house. I wanted more color so I added some fall colored candles. I love our custom monogram so anytime I can use it on something, I do. I was sure to put it on the coasters I made for the tray.
Coffee is a must for me in the morning. My mom handed down some of her red Crate and Barrel dishes to me, and I love to bring them out this time of year.
The decoration are simple but just enough for me and the porch this season.
Now you know what I am up to on those early mornings – drinking my coffee and catching up on news and blogs. So far the updated change has been great. Let’s just hope it doesn’t get too cold too soon.
