Our New Foyer Art

When we showed you the changes that I made in our foyer (here) recently, you might have gotten a glimpse of my latest art purchase.

It is a beautiful oil painting that local artist Ann Pass did of the pond at Monet’s Giverny.

I loved it for several reasons.  First, I visited this pond at Giverny last September.  I loved the colors and the fact that it is Monet’s garden, but Ann put her spin on it.

I also love the intricate frame that she put the painting in.

I love that the frame blends so well with the wood tones in the pine bench.

I also love that when I sit down to put on my shoes, it is directly across from me.

And I love that I see its reflection in the mirror when I check my hair on the way out the door.

We are so lucky to have a great space here in Lexington called The Artists’ Attic, which is located on the fourth floor of an historic office/retail space.  Several artists (I think 14) have their studios there, and they also sell their paintings there.  The public can drop in during their work hours and shop for art.  We love it, and the artists love it.  They also participate in Gallery Hops which are held monthly during warm months.

Take care.
