It doesn’t take much to make your heart go pitter-patter in February when roses are involved – especially when those roses are on special at Kroger and you buy them for yourself.
I found these sweet little miniatures and knew they would be just the thing to brighten up our foyer table.
I think silver is like jewelry for a room, so I tucked the bundle into a nicely polished silver sugar bowl, sans lid, propped a silver tray on a plate stand, and dug out a sweet little Valentine post card from my antique stash. Voila – my Valentine decorations are complete!!!
Since I just booked my annual trip to the Netherlands, I thought this little lad in his wooden shoes was quite appropriate. Of course, I don’t know how you send Valentine greetings in Dutch. My Dutch vocabulary is limited to sinaasappelsap which means orange juice, and that’s not romantic at all.
Who knows? Maybe he is Hans Brinker, and his silver skates are tucked into that bag!!! But the important thing here is that there is a Valentine greeting over his head.
