Happy February everyone. It sure feels like February here in Syracuse because of the chill in the air and snow on the ground. Since it is the “Month of Love”, I found a quick and easy project on Pinterest. I was just looking at one of the categories and saw this and thought it would be perfect for this month.
Most people have seen this famous image of LOVE. I think they even used it on a postage stamp at one point. Now I’ll teach you how to make a mini-version of this iconic sign.
The first step is to buy the cardboard letters (the size is up to you) at your local craft store. If you do not have red acrylic paint on hand, go ahead and buy some as well.
Paint away and make those letters red. You could spray paint them if you want, but it only took a few minutes to apply the acrylic with a sponge brush. I didn’t take a photo of the next step, but it is super easy. Get out your glue gun and arrange the letters the same way they are arranged in original LOVE art.
I was not sure if it would stand and be stable, but as of now (knock on wood) there are no issues.
That’s all there is to it.
I placed it on the dresser in our foyer area. That way we can see it every time we walk by, which is a lot.
To go along with the theme, I added a shot of Mr. Spring and me that was taken in Hawaii right after he spent a six month deployment on a submarine. Luckily, my red dress in this shot adds to the Valentine’s theme.
Of course, a candle always adds the romantic touch. It’s perfect for the minimalist look on this dresser top.
Don’t you just LOVE it????
And before I close, we want to thank Julia over at Hooked on Houses for featuring my mom’s kitchen on Friday. Be sure to check it out here.

Perfectly simple! I LOVE it!
Wow! It turned out great and I love how it looks on your dresser.
Cute idea!! And to think I just got back from Hobby Lobby!! Guess I’ll just have to make another trip. ;0)
Thanks for sharing!!
If you have the opportunity to visit the Indianapolis Art Museum, you will see Robert Indiana large “LOVE” instillation. It makes a wonderful statement and often couple pose for photos with Love in the background.
Very clever of you! I just might make one for our house. ‘-)
Thanks ~ Sarah
