The BEST Biscuit Recipe


There are certain things we southern girls love:  our pearls, our silver, our men, and our biscuits.  I found the best biscuit recipe ever and couldn’t wait to share it with you.   I always double the recipe because I like my biscuits BIG, and the leftovers can be frozen and warmed up in the microwave for a great breakfast sandwich.

biscuits gluten free recipe DSC 8901 - The BEST Biscuit Recipe



Heat oven to 450 degrees.

2 cups all-purpose flour

4 teaspoons baking powder

3 teaspoons sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

Sift the above ingredients.  Then cut in:

1/2 cup  Crisco

Then mix together and add:

2/3 cup milk

1 egg

Mix gently, put on a floured service and knead 20 times.

Use a biscuit cutter to make the shape and size you desire.  Bake 8 – 10 minutes.

    This is the same one I began cooking with, there are so good. However, I have gotten lazy about biscuits and buy them in the freezer section or when I go to Louisville stock up on Butter Buns!!
