In yesterday’s blog, I shared Ralph Lauren’s Christmas table (here) with you. Well, come along today as we tour a sitting room and a bedroom that are located in the same Madison Avenue shop.
The sitting room, which feels as if it belongs in a country home in England, has light-colored walls and dark plaids, velvets, and leather.
The mantel is decked out for Christmas, and two pine cone wreaths are casually tossed into the fireplace. I suppose they are kindling. The iron dog is just one of the animal accents in the room. It joins the many equestrian paintings strewn about.
There’s usually a make-shift bar in an RL room.
A plaid scarf wrapped around the crystal pitcher adds some more masculinity in the already masculine room.
Any of us could set up a similar bar in our homes.
The book shelf is full of old leather bound ledgers.
They even placed some ledgers on a side chair.
The ledgers are joined by wooden boxes, books, and more animal art.
Here is another animal painting that adds to the English country feel.
The side tables were loaded with items.
The arrangement complements the dining room arrangement.
Around the corner from the sitting room is an opulent bedroom.
The English country look is complete here, too, with the heavy plaids, oil paintings, fireplace, leather chairs, dark woods, and over-the-top linens.
These iphone photos just don’t do this room justice.
The leather books also add to the atmosphere.
Even with the purple in the pillows, the throw, and the wall covering, the room is very masculine.
There was no painted furniture in the entire store. They use all different types of wood and styles to give that “purchased over time” look.
I don’t think I have ever seen anything by Ralph Lauren that I didn’t like! This is all just beautiful. I love your new blog look and the new picture of you two looks great!!
Thank you Alicia. We are happy with the way it turned out.
I like Ralph’s taste in bourbon. Noticed he was using Bluegrass area’s own Woodford Reserve……a Kentucky tradition!!!
That’s more proof that he has good taste!!!
Thanks for the lovely tour…I had my first visit at the mansion last February…I just love the whole Ralph Lauren vibe.
