A few weeks ago we switched out the old and charm-filled windows in our Florida room to energy efficient windows that will be much more practical in our Syracuse winters. You can read about it here. I loved the old windows and saved them for some future freebie projects.
My first window project was really free. I had some left over chalk board paint which I used to paint on each of the old panes.
Here it is half-way finished. I did repaint the frame even though I love the worn/weathered look of the old chipped paint.
When I painted all of them, I used my chalk markers to fill in the days of the week. And there you go. An instant organizer for our entry. Now we can see at a glance what is on the agenda for each day of the week. How fun is that!
Cheers!
love this idea, so many things to do with these great old windows! xo

Oh I love it. I am working now on an old window shutter to do the same.

It looks great!
I love chalkboards, that is a great use for old windows. A great way to stay organized.
That is so cute, Jordan. I’ve been looking for an old window to do something with, but so far, no luck.

Lovely how it turned out and you can use it for so many things too 🙂
This was such a great idea and came out wonderful. Can you tell me what kind of chalk paint you used? Was it spray or in a can that you have to use a paint brush?
Thanks for sharing this wonderful idea!

Paula,
I used chalk paint out of a can, then applied with a brush. I am sure chalk spray paint would work as well. Good luck!
Adorable! Thanks for sharing your pane-ful window update!
Have a great weekend!
