Easy French Headboard

Author – Autumn

I have a dear French friend named Madeleine who has four – yes, four – houses.  One is in Brittany right on the ocean, one is 15 minutes from Cannes, one is at a French ski resort, and one is in Brussels.  (They live there for tax reasons – don’t ask)!

In addition to being an adventurous world traveler, which is how we met, she is also an artist.  I stayed with her at her Brussels home during one of my European trips and was thrilled to see the headboard in her guest bedroom.  Any clever artist or patient person could recreate this.

She simply painted the headboard on her wall free-hand.  If you aren’t quite as talented, I think it would be easy to draw a design first, blow it up with a projector, trace it, and then paint away.  (Sorry for the poor photo quality.  This was taken with my old camera).

I hope you can use this headboard idea somewhere in your home.

Take care.

What a great idea! Painting a headboard is an east and inexpensive alternative that I might just have to try out some day!
    Have a wonderful week!

I’ve seen painted on headboards before but this one is very special and effective. So smart of you to take the pic. It’s a great inspiration! Hope you’ll come by and take our house tour. Jane

This is exactly what I needed to see. I’ve wanted to do something like this, but wasn’t sure how it would look. You’ve given me the confidence to go ahead. Thanks.

I found you at Between Naps on the Porch.

    Eddie Ross. Wow. Impressed.

hi! this is so amazing and something that I’ve wanted to do for some time now. I know my daughter would love to have something like this in her room but just not sure of what to paint yet! I can’t believe you did it free handed! amazing!
