Easy French Headboard

By Janette | Decorating

Author – Autumn

I have a dear French friend named Madeleine who has four – yes, four – houses.  One is in Brittany right on the ocean, one is 15 minutes from Cannes, one is at a French ski resort, and one is in Brussels.  (They live there for tax reasons – don’t ask)!

In addition to being an adventurous world traveler, which is how we met, she is also an artist.  I stayed with her at her Brussels home during one of my European trips and was thrilled to see the headboard in her guest bedroom.  Any clever artist or patient person could recreate this.

She simply painted the headboard on her wall free-hand.  If you aren’t quite as talented, I think it would be easy to draw a design first, blow it up with a projector, trace it, and then paint away.  (Sorry for the poor photo quality.  This was taken with my old camera).

I hope you can use this headboard idea somewhere in your home.

Take care.
