Go Dutch

Author:  Autumn

It’s almost that time again……..

Each spring for the past six years, I have hired a small bike and boat company in Holland  and along with 18 bicycling friends spend a week or two cycling through adorable Dutch villages.  We all chip in to pay for the boat, and we meet up in Amsterdam where our journey begins.

It works like this:  We sleep on the boat in cozy little cabins and get up around 8 a.m.  After eating a hearty breakfast, we, along with our wonderful guide Francine, ride away for a day of cycling.  We meander through the numerous bicycle trails, stop at museums and interesting sites, eat a picnic lunch, and meet up with the boat that evening in another village.   After a snack, a shower, and maybe a nap, we have a delicious dinner and repeat the same routine the next day.  It is pure heaven.

This year Jordan and her husband will join us and celebrate their first wedding anniversary on board.  That will be fun.

I hope you enjoy the photos from past trips, and yes, it really is that charming.

    Hi there!
Thanks for inviting me over! These photos are amazing. I adore architecture and these houses are so uniquely Dutch! I have a client who has an enormous collection of the little ceramic houses that were given away on KLM flight. The ones that were decanters for alcoholic beverages?! They are blue and grey-white and adorable in a row,
I need to visit there! Thanks for the virtual tour.
    Loved my visit.
